The 7 anarchists who were convicted to 40 months imprisonment because of their
participation in the last November Polytechnic School uprising were absent from
their trial. There are now 11. The 4 new convicted are about 15-16 years old.
The 9 anarchists have been ordered to be re-arrested and imprisoned immediately until their appeal case can be heard. They refuse to surrender to the State and the 7 of them live in hiding from the 15th of December, while the other 2 from last February. Their position is one of resistance against the State and is an act of social struggle.
The police have already raided a number of squats, cafes and homes in an effort to arrest them.
A number of strong solidarity actions have been organised in the centre of Athens and also in some suburbs, mostly held by the Collaboration of Anarchist Groups for the Social Solidarity and the Multiform Action. A couple of months ago the polic annoyed some other anarchists by re-arresting or following them, because of their participation in the Polytechnic School uprising. Amongst them is Demos Christofides, a 20 year old student, member of the Collaboration and co-editor of the anarchist paper "Streets of Rage"
Also there is a tremendous economical problem in the Collaboration of Anarchist Groups due to the increased action of the last months and because when the police raided its offices, it stole about 550,000 drachmas (about $3000 Australian). As they are continuing the struggle the cost of printing, photocopier, rent, etc. is very big for anyone who wants to offer economical help the Collaboration has an account number:

ODYSSEAS KAMBOURIS, who has been convicted to 5 years imprisonment for attacking a police guard outside the Communist Party Headquarters.
NIKOS KARANTZAS, a student who has been charged for carrying molotov bombs during a student demonstration in January 1995 in Athens.
GIORGOS KRITIKOPOULOS who had been convicted to 12 years imprisonment for throwing molotov bombs against the premises of the International Exhibition of Thessaloiki, during a solidarity demonstration to EZLN (Zapatistas) in March 21, 1995, was finally freed after he paid a bail.
Kritipopoulos wants to thank all thsoe who offered solidarity to him.
Last month 3 young anarchists arrested in Athens. Police claimed that they are members of an armed group called "Wolves of Exarchia". They were taken to the cells of Astalia (the police Headquarters) but we haven't any other information about them, such as names, ages, conditions of arresting, etc.
